Xero | Setup Windcave in Xero

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the connection between Xero and Windcave.

Step-by-step Instructions


Step 1: Reset Windcave password
  1. Retrieve the PxPayUserID and other credentials provided in the Windcave email (sample below).
  2. Navigate to the Windcave portal: https://sec.windcave.com/pxmi3/logon
  3. Log in using your Xero PxPayUserID from the email.
  4. Click the Password Reset button.
  5. Retrieve the reset link from your email and create a new password.
  6. Save the new password for future use.
Step 2: Connect Windcave to Xero
  1. Navigate to Windcave: https://www.windcave.com/
  2. Log in using the Xero PxPayUserID and the newly created password.
  3. Navigate to User Accounts > My User,
  4. Scroll down and click "Connect to Xero".
  5. Follow these steps in the Xero Integrations prompt:
    1. Click "Select an organisation" and choose your subsidiary name.
    2. Click "Allow access" to grant permissions.
  6. Configure your branding theme and payment account:
    1. Navigate to "Branding theme" (just above the red buttons)
    2. Under Payment account, select Undeposited funds - Xero
    3. Click update (red button).
  7. Once completed, the Xero PxPayUserID is no longer required for daily user. User your regular Windcave login credentials to view settlements. 
Step 3: Test Windcave Payment Integration in Xero 
  1. Ensure Windcave payment options are active:
    • Go to Settings > Invoice Settings > Options > Edit > Payment Services.
    • Select Windcave.
  2. Confirm Windcave payment is active
    • Go to Settings > Payment services
    • Click Turn On if Windcave is not already activated.
  3. Test Invoice template:
    • Navigate to Business > Invoices.
    • Select an invoice by clicking its record in the Number column.
    • Click Print PDF in the top menu to download a invoice.
    • Open the PDF and click the Windcave link on the invoice to verify that it redirects to the Windcave payment portal.
