This article provides information on how to keep trading in case of an unexpected situation (power loss, system down).   


Should your trading be impacted because systems and/or utilities – i.e. water, power, telco - might not be available, the below information will allow you to continue to trade.

How to print out retail price lists
Go to Lightspeed
Click on Catalog (price tag icon) > Products
Find export list (at the top of the table)
Select 'XLSX format', click 'Click to start download'
Store this list on your computer
Column C contains the SKU name, column Y the retail price
How to print out the tech schedulesGo to Vital
Click on Jobs > Calendar
Set the view to week or month
Select 'grouped by tech'
Click on the first tech and hit control + P > print
Go to the next tech etc. 
How to print out the jobs to invoiceGo to Vital
Click on Jobs > Jobs to invoice
Set the rows per page to max (100) at the bottom right hand corner
Click control + P > print
On the printer page, select 'more settings'
Find scale and set to 60
Print
Use Xero or Lightspeed to take payment
Reset Vital, Lightspeed or Xero password

Use the 'forgot password' link. If that is not possible:

  • Go into Lightspeed using another account. 
  • Setup > USers > find the user
  • Click on the name to open the record
  • Scroll to Security and ID
  • Change the password (repeat password)
  • Scroll up to hit save

  • Go into Xero using another account
  • Settings > Users > find the user
  • Click on the three dots
  • Delete the user
  • Click on 'invite a user' (at the top)
  • Add email and permissions
  • Hit send

  • Raise a ticket to reset the Vital password
Reset Windcave terminal
  • To Reset the terminal press the CLR and FUNCT buttons at the same time until it beeps (possibly the green and yellow buttons) while the terminal is on in the cradle. When it resets, the reading on the pin pad should come back to EFTPOS or WINDCAVE.
  • If the above does not resolve the issue, a modem reset may be required, or unplugging the terminal and re-plugging it back in.
    (there is a cord at the bottom of the pin pad).
Reset the router
  • Find a small pinhole on the bottom or back of the router. 
  • Use a paperclip or skewer to press and hold the reset button for at least 20 seconds. You'll see the lights on the router change. 
  • Release and wait for the router to come up to normal. 
  • Run a speedtest (Google or Ookla). 
  • Recommended to do this monthly. 
Reboot the computer (daily)
  • Reboot your computer daily to keep the memory cleared.
