This guide outlines how to create a promotion in LightSpeed offering a discount on a second product (product B) when a customer purchases a specified product (product A). 

Example Promotion

• Promotion Name: "Buy Acid = 20% off Strips".
• Description: "Purchase Acid 5L and receive 20% off Poolwerx 5-way Test Strips."
• Trigger: Buy 1 x Acid 5L
• Reward: Get 20% off Poolwerx 5-way Test Strips.

The promotion ensures customers purchasing Acid 5L (Product A) receive the discount on Poolwerx 5-way Test Strips (Product B) during checkout.

Steps to Create the Promotion

1. Navigate to Products > Promotions 

2. Click Add Promotion.

3. Enter the Promotion details:

• Name: Enter a promotion name e.g., "Buy Acid = 20% off Strips"
• Description: Add a description for clarity, e.g., "Purchase Acid 5L and receive 20% off Poolwerx 5-way Test Strips".
• Outlets: Select the outlets where this promotion will apply.

4. Schedule the Promotion

• Select Type: Choose One-Time Promotion.
• Set Date Range:
  • Choose a start and end date for the promotion, e.g., Friday, 25 October to Monday, 28 October.
  • Tip: Untick No End Date to enable setting an end date.
• Click Apply.

5. Configure the Promotion Criteria

• Type: Click Advanced
• Under When a Customer, select Buys the following items:
  • Input the quantity of product A (e.g., Acid 5L) the customer must purchase to qualify for the discount.
  • Use the search bar to locate and select product A.
• Under Then they will, select Get the Following Items:
  • Use the search bar to locate and select product B (e.g., Poolwerx 5-way Test Strips).
  • Specify the percentage discount for product B.

6. Click Save at the top of the page.

Testing the Promotion

To ensure the promotion applies correctly:

1. Add Acid 5L (product A) to the Sell Screen.

2. Verify that the promotion prompt appears.

3. Click Show details to view the promotion details.

4. Select Get 1 of the following to see the second product attached to the promotion.

5. Copy the Product name from the promotion for quick search and add it to the sale. 

6. Confirm the discount appears correctly in the transaction summary.
